Hey, Trista and Ryan, Joe Millionaire and Clay Aiken: There’s a new magazine just for you. Magazine publisher Primedia Inc. is preparing to test a new title in mid-January for fans of reality-based television, hoping to capitalize on the pop culture phenomenon spawned by the likes of competition show “Survivor” and dating program “The Bachelor.”
The yet-to-be-named magazine will be launched initially as a special offshoot of Soap Opera Weekly. If the first issue is successful, at least three more could be published next year, said Steve Aster, executive vice president of consumer marketing at Primedia.
