Bush vs. Castro
Regarding President Bush’s threat in an Oct. 10 speech to increase U.S. pressure on Cuba: Having infuriated many in the European and Islamic worlds, our lone-ranger leader proposes action of some sort against that enormous threat to us and ours represented by Fidel Castro’s down-at-the-heels government to the south.
I wonder whether he will be seen in a gussied-up version of Teddy Roosevelt’s charge up San Juan Hill. This bit of gnarled “history” could well become a collector’s item to go along with Dubya’s famed bit as a synthetic fighter pilot filmed almost within sight of San Diego.
