Re “House OKs Renewal of Key Patriot Act Powers,” July 22
After reading (and listening to) parts of the House debate on renewal of the Patriot Act, I can only conclude that, with the help of a majority of our representatives, the terrorists have won.
Putting aside the rights that we have fought for for more than 200 years, the rights that defined America for more than 200 million citizens, on the off chance that we would catch some terrorists means the terrorists’ task is done. We are not who we were.
