Hyundai Introduces Two New Vehicles

South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Co., which enjoyed higher-than-average U.S. sales last year, hopes to increase its market share with two new cars introduced at the New York International Auto Show.

Hyundai unveiled its all-new flagship sedan, the 2006 Azera, and its redesigned 2006 Accent compact. The two vehicles are among seven all-new or redesigned vehicles Hyundai plans to launch over a two-year period, Hyundai Motor America Chief Executive Robert Cosmai said.

The Azera replaces Hyundai’s XG350 sedan, which was first introduced as the XG300 in 2001 and has been a low seller. The Azera will compete with upscale sedans such as the Ford Five Hundred, Buick LaCrosse and Nissan Maxima.
