2 Brothers Not Guilty of Murder in Boy’s Death
- Share via
A jury cleared two teenage brothers of murder in the killing of a 10-year-old Nigerian boy as he walked home from a London library more than five years ago.
The brothers, 17 and 18, also were acquitted of assault with intent to rob Damilola Taylor, but the jury failed to reach a verdict on manslaughter charges. The suspects were 12 and 13 when Damilola was stabbed and can’t be identified.
The jury a day earlier found co-defendant Hassan Jihad, 20, not guilty of murder and other charges. Four suspects under 18 were acquitted in 2002.
Damilola bled to death in the stairwell of an apartment building in November 2000.
