Advanced Micro Devices Inc. said it received a U.S. antitrust subpoena over graphics processors and cards, a market that it entered in October with the $5.4-billion acquisition of Canadian company ATI Technologies Inc.
The Justice Department hasn’t made any specific allegations against Advanced Micro or ATI, the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company said in a statement. It plans to cooperate with the investigation.
The acquisition of ATI, the largest maker of computer graphics chips for notebook computers, was Advanced Micro’s biggest ever.
