From Times Staff Reports
The board of the Department of Water and Power on Tuesday approved increases in water rates, which must still be approved by the City Council.
The average homeowner would see a monthly increase of about 40 cents the first year and 60 cents the next, said DWP spokeswoman Kim Hughes.
Higher costs are expected for businesses and large homes.
The board also approved factoring the cost of natural gas into electricity bills. A bill for the average homeowner could rise $15 a year.
