Lobby Group Lifts Loss Forecast to $3 Billion

Airline lobby group International Air Transport Assn. said it was lifting its estimate for global losses in 2006 to $3 billion from $2.2 billion as fuel prices outpace cost-cutting efforts.
The figure is still below the loss of $3.2 billion for 2005. IATA represents 261 airlines handling 94% of world air traffic.
