Long Beach Outlasts Riverside

Shawn Hawkins scored eight of his 17 points in overtime to lead Long Beach State to an 82-76 victory over visiting UC Riverside in a Big West Conference game Thursday.
Hawkins made three key baskets in the last two minutes of overtime to give the 49ers (15-11, 8-5) their fourth straight win.
Long Beach held Riverside to two baskets in the extra period and improved to 3-0 in overtime games this season.
Mark Dawson scored 10 points and had a career-high 19 rebounds for the 49ers.
Ricky Porter had 21 points to lead Riverside (4-22, 3-11).
Pacific 64, UC Santa Barbara 36 -- Christian Maraker scored 22 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds as the host Tigers (21-7, 11-2) earned a share of their third consecutive Big West Conference championship by routing the Gauchos (13-13, 5-8) at Stockton.
Pacific can clinch the Big West title outright with a win in their regular-season finale against Cal Poly on Saturday.
Cal State Northridge 82, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 77 -- Mike Efevberha scored 20 points off the bench, including six free throws in the last 31.2 seconds to lead the Matadors (11-15, 4-9) over the visiting Mustangs (9-17, 7-6) in a Big West game.
Cal State Fullerton 81, UC Davis 63 -- Bobby Brown scored 20 points and Justin Burns had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Titans (14-12) over the Aggies (8-19) in a nonconference game at Fullerton.
Occidental 48, Claremont-Mudd 41 -- Zach Phillips scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the host Tigers (20-5) over the Stags (19-7) in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. Occidental will play at Puget Sound (Wash.) on Saturday.
