“High School Musical” is going global. The hit Disney Channel movie will premiere this summer on Disney Channel networks in Australia, followed by runs in France, Spain, Britain, Japan and India.
Meanwhile, cellphone ring tones are in the works, along with a novel based on the movie and tween merchandise.

Jazz man? Bruce Springsteen will perform for the first time at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival this year, appearing April 30 with his Seeger Sessions band, just five days after the release of his new album “We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions,” featuring songs associated with the folk singer.
Tour postponed: U2 has postponed the Asia-Pacific leg of its sold-out world tour due to a family illness, the band’s promoter said Thursday. U2 was scheduled to begin the Asia-Pacific portion of its “Vertigo” tour in Auckland, New Zealand, on March 17. In all, it postponed 10 shows.
