at No. 18 Boston College 41, Buffalo 0: Chris Crane filled in for injured starter Matt Ryan and overcame a soaking rain to run for two touchdowns and throw for another to lead the Eagles (7-1) to an easy win over the Bulls (1-7).
at No. 21 Georgia Tech 30, Miami 23: One week after failing to catch a pass for the first time in his career, Charles Johnson hauled in a tiebreaking, one-yard touchdown with 6:18 left, and the Yellow Jackets (6-2, 4-1) rallied to beat the Hurricanes (5-3, 2-2) at Atlanta.
No. 24 Wake Forest 24, at No. Carolina 17: Riley Skinner threw a 39-yard touchdown to Ken Moore, and Jon Abbate had an interception in the end zone on the last play as the Demon Deacons (7-1, 3-1) beat the Tar Heels (1-7, 0-5) at Chapel Hill.
at Maryland 27, Florida State 24: Sam Hollenbach threw three touchdown passes, and the Terrapins (6-2, 3-1) became bowl-eligible with a win over the Seminoles (4-4, 2-4) at College Park. Maryland’s Jeremy Navarre blocked a 46-yard field-goal try by Gary Cismesia with 42 seconds left.
at Virginia 14, North Carolina State 7: Jason Snelling ran 17 yards for his second touchdown with 1:31 to play to lift the Cavaliers (4-5, 3-2) over the Wolfpack (3-5, 2-3) at Charlottesville. North Carolina State has lost three in a row since victories over Boston College and Florida State.
Vanderbilt 45, at Duke 28: Sophomore quarterback Chris Nickson ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more to lead the Commodores (4-5) over the Blue Devils (0-8) at Durham, N.C. Duke has the nation’s longest active losing streak at 16.
