What ‘unscripted’ means for TV writers

Regarding “Reality check: Unscripted TV a hit for L.A. economy” (Jan. 25):
As a TV writer and Writers Guild of America member, I’d like to thank The Times for semantically supporting the networks’ and studios’ fiction that “reality” programs aren’t scripted so their writers don’t deserve a guild contract.
