Fooled again

As goaltender Dan Cloutier’s stock continues its Enron-like plummet, I can’t help but recall listening to Kings’ brass gushing over Cloutier and his stats in the weeks after his signing. I was reminded of a line spoken by Ducks radio commentator Brent Severyn during last year’s playoffs, “Stats are like Play-Doh. You can make whatever you want out of them.”
The Kings should have known something was wrong when they were the only team really pursuing Cloutier. Remember when the Kings were the only team offering a contract to Roman Cechmanek? Remember how that turned out? So do I. Let history repeat.
