Westminster driver dies when he hits power pole

A Westminster man was killed when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a power pole early Monday, police said.
Tyler Briant, 31, was speeding on Magnolia Avenue at Chapman Avenue when the accident occurred, police said.
The crash caused temporary outages of power and telephone service in the neighborhood.
