* San Diego 8, at San Francisco 4: Greg Maddux earned his 348th win and Adrian Gonzalez was four for five with a home run and four runs. Maddux (1-0) has won six consecutive decisions against the Giants since 2003. He retired 19 of his last 20 batters after giving up a run-scoring single to Bengie Molina in the first inning.

* at Houston 5, St. Louis 3: Miguel Tejada’s two-run homer in the ninth inning ended the Cardinals’ winning streak at five games. The Astros led, 3-0, before the Cardinals’ three-run ninth in which Ryan Ludwick’s two-out, two-run double against closer Jose Valverde (2-0) tied it, 3-3.

* Florida 10, at Washington 7: Hanley Ramirez, Dan Uggla and Robert Andino homered, and four Marlins relievers combined for 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball in a less-than-half-full $611-million Nationals Park. The Nationals lost their fifth consecutive game after a 3-0 start.

* at Colorado 2, Atlanta 1: Matt Holliday hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning, Aaron Cook pitched seven strong innings and the Rockies ended a five-game losing streak. The game took only 2 hours 5 minutes to play, the shortest nine-inning game in Coors Field history.

* Chicago 10, at Pittsburgh 8 (12 innings): Aramis Ramirez’s sacrifice fly scored the go-ahead run during a two-run 12th inning in which the Cubs didn’t have a hit against rookie Evan Meek, who walked five in the inning.

* Philadelphia 5, at Cincinnati 3: Pat Burrell hit two of the Phillies’ four homers against Bronson Arroyo and left-hander Cole Hamels (1-0) gave up five hits and three walks in seven innings.

* at Arizona 9, Dodgers 3: Mark Reynolds hit two of the Diamondbacks’ four home runs to help stretch the team’s winning streak to four games.
