17-year-old fatally stabbed on street

A 17-year-old was stabbed to death Friday night after a group of people surrounded him near Harvard Heights, police said.
The victim, who was from Los Angeles, was confronted by the group at the intersection of Venice Boulevard and Manhattan Place about 10:30 p.m. After a struggle began and someone stabbed him, the group fled the area on foot, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department.
The 17-year-old was taken to a hospital, where he died, police said.
