TaylorMade-Adidas Golf is cutting 170 jobs after its acquisition of golf apparel maker Ashworth Inc. The cuts amount to about 8% of their combined workforce of just over 2,000 employees.
TaylorMade-Adidas purchased Ashworth in November for $28.1 million plus the assumption of $46.3 million of Ashworth’s debt. Both companies are based in Carlsbad, Calif. TaylorMade-Adidas said at the time that the deal would widen its range of products and extend its marketing presence.
