Re “Can anyone govern this state?” Dec. 15
The Times wonders if California is just too big to run well. No better way to turn attention away from the true problems than to invent a false one.
Divide this state in two, and you will have exactly the same crises -- they reside in an electorate that does not favor tax increases, lawmakers who block the measures that are necessary and a Constitution that enables a minority to impose its obstruction on the state.
Change these, and the state will be small enough to run well.
