NIGHT LINES

The new year is already shaping up nicely for those craving new drinking destinations. First among them is SBE’s anticipated Foxtail. Located in the former Lobby space (9077 Santa Monica Blvd.), the bar will feature cocktail waitresses decked out in mod dresses and purple suede boots. Given its prime WeHo location, look for Foxtail to be the hot spot for media types and fashionistas starting in late January/early February. . . . Around the same time, One Group’s STK will finally open its doors. The L.A. outpost (755 N. La Cienega Blvd.) of the upscale Manhattan steakhouse (which contains TenJune lounge underneath) will feature a design similar to the NYC flagship. One key difference, however, will be a new lounge concept (the L.A. version’s indoor-outdoor lounge, Coco de Ville, features bright colors and multilevel stadium seating). . . . Hollywood’s speakeasy-inspired lounge 86 (pictured) is finally opening to the public later this month after several private events in December. . . . Butter (not connected to the trendy Manhattan bar and restaurant of the same name) should open in February inside the former Pearl space (665 N. Robertson Blvd.). The 8,000-square-foot club boasts three separate bars, a massive patio and a waterfall. . . . Downtown L.A. will see a number of new bars, including Cedd Moses’ new members-only club, the Doheny. Expect a soft opening this month for the much-talked-about club. Later this year, another hotly anticipated members-only club, Soho House, will make its debut. The L.A. edition of the London-based chain of posh bars will open at the former Morton’s location (8764 Melrose Ave.) around November. . . . Earlier 2008 debuts include a new offering from Andy Fiscella (the Winston’s co-owner) on Santa Monica Boulevard inside the former Tempest Bar space (expect a late February or early March opening), former Chi owners Allan and Art Davis’ new concept bar down the street at 7969 Santa Monica Blvd. (likely to debut in February) and Bar Deluxe on Cahuenga Boulevard. . . . Finally, two wine bars are ripening for early ’08 openings. Downtown L.A. gets its own version of Culver City’s Bottle Rock this spring at 1050 S. Flower St., and Echo Park will finally see Prado open at 1805 W. Sunset Blvd.
