It’s Pakistan’s choice

Re “Make your own bones,” editorial, Jan. 2
I usually agree with your editorials, but I just can’t justify this one. Benazir Bhutto spelled hope for that war-torn country, and I feel that her son, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, gives the same hope. Yes, he is inexperienced and young, and yes, the family has stumbled in the past, but the people seem not to care and want to give them another chance. Democracy is not for every country. Who are we to impose our system of government on another country when ours is such a mess at the moment? We need to be an example to the rest of the world, not a bully. Let the U.S. concentrate on its own considerable problems, and let the people of Pakistan decide their own fate.
