HP ships most units in 2007

Hewlett-Packard Co. of Palo Alto shipped the most personal computers last year, after tying Dell Inc. for the top spot in 2006, researcher Gartner said.
HP had 18.2% of the market, compared with 14.3% for Dell, Gartner said. In 2006, the companies controlled 15.9% each.
Hewlett-Packard’s PC shipments climbed 30% last year, Gartner said. Dell’s PC sales increased 1.7%, the slowest rate among the top five manufacturers.
