OAO Gazprom plans to start selling natural gas to the U.S. from Canada as Russia’s largest energy producer seeks to become a global supplier.
The Moscow company will use the planned Rabaska liquefied natural gas terminal in Quebec to establish its business in North America, said Vitaly Vasiliev, head of Gazprom Marketing & Trading in Britain.
Gazprom wants to expand its presence in North America by joining one of two competing pipeline projects to connect Alaska with the continental United States.
