Police chief set to retire in May

Police Chief Patrick McKinley has announced that he will retire as head of the city’s 160 officer-department in May, officials said.
McKinley, 67, has served as chief for nearly 15 years. He was hired to replace Police Chief Philip Goehring, who retired.
McKinley “reinvigorated the department,” said City Manager Chris Meyer. “It’s going to be tough to find somebody to follow in his footsteps.”
McKinley joined the Fullerton Police Department in 1993. He previously worked for the Los Angeles Police Department for nearly three decades.
