Hot Topic’s sales, net income climb

Hot Topic Inc. said its profit rose 11% in the third quarter on a 5% increase in sales.
The City of Industry teen apparel retailer said it earned $7.4 million, or 17 cents a share, in the three-month period ended Nov. 1, compared with $6.7 million, or 15 cents, in the same period last year.
Revenue rose to $197.3 million from $188.5 million.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected income of 16 cents a share on revenue of $195.8 million.
