Obese convict is executed

From Times Wire Reports
Convicted murderer Richard Cooey, who had contended that he was too fat to be put to death, was executed by lethal injection without incident.
In a series of unsuccessful appeals, Cooey argued that his obesity would make it difficult for prison staff to find suitable veins in his arms to deliver the deadly chemicals.
There were no difficulties, said Larry Greene, a spokesman for the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville.
Cooey stood 5-foot-7 and weighed 267 pounds.
