MORNING BRIEFING

I know AEG gets raked over the coals on a regular basis in this space, but I would instead like to congratulate them after a record-breaking Kings season. No playoffs for a sixth consecutive year? That breaks a franchise record.
And to do it in a league where more than half the teams advance to the postseason really says something.
The Kings were also shut out a franchise-record 12 times. It’s not easy to fail to score every seventh game, so kudos to AEG there as well.
Other notable achievements include another last-place division finish and a bottom-five overall finish for the third straight season. So props to AEG for breaking records I thought would never be broken.
