Thank you for the article (“Strike the Inner-City Setting” by Reed Johnson, May 31). I think it is so important for African Americans to tell all of our stories. We have to share all of our experiences with each other and the wider world.
I think having President Obama and his entire team of amazing African Americans is waking folks up and giving middle-class African Americans the space and comfort to tell their stories.
That’s what I am doing with my art, novel, memoir, and BAP social networking site and radio show. It’s great to reflect who we are.
