Week ahead for Angels

Tuesday through Thursday: at Boston
Friday through Sunday: at Minnesota
No American League team has been hotter than the Twins in the second half, and it’s not hard to see why. Baseball’s best-hitting team entered Friday batting .314 and averaging more than six runs a game since the break. Don’t blame the Twins’ new ballpark, though. Target Field is only slightly smaller than the dreary Metrodome, and although Minnesota has a much better record and a much higher batting average at home, the team has hit more than twice as many home runs on the road. Before getting their first look at baseball’s newest stadium, however, the Angels visit the majors’ oldest, Fenway Park. And speaking of old, the Angels might be saying goodbye to quite a few Red Sox this week. With a dozen players 30 or older, Boston is ripe for an off-season overhaul.
