Food is never simply “food” to L.A. art collective Fallen Fruit, which uses it to investigate a host of interwoven metaphors for culture, politics and consumption. Wrapping up a yearlong residency at LACMA, Fallen Fruit presents one last big hurrah, “EatLACMA,” an all-day, museum-wide bash bringing together 50 artists and collectives for various installations and performances — including a tomato fight, an electronic melon drum circle, chewing carolers and belly listening sessions. Participants include Pulitzer Prize-winning food writer Jonathan Gold, actress/musician Ronee Blakley, folkie Phranc, actress Karen Black and many local artists. Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), 5905 Wilshire Blvd., L.A. noon-8 p.m. Sun. Free with museum admission. (323) 857-6000. https://www.lacma.org.
