Former Los Angeles Kings center Michal Handzus, most recently of the Chicago Blackhawks, has listed his home in Hermosa Beach for sale at $4.199 million.
Found among a crowd of beach dwellings, the 2003 Mediterranean sits on a corner lot near the Strand with ocean views. Spanning three stories, the open floor plan includes a chef’s kitchen, an ocean-facing office/study, five bedrooms and five bathrooms in about 3,700 square feet of living space.
Among interior features is a living room with cathedral-style ceilings, a gas fireplace and a wet bar. The master suite has its own fireplace as well as a large walk-in closet and a soaking tub.
A rooftop deck has a sitting area, a bar and a hot tub centering on the coastline. There’s also a small courtyard off the lower level. Adjacent to the home is a three-car garage.
The 37-year-old center spent four seasons with the Kings from 2007-11. He last played for the Blackhawks, with whom he won a Stanley Cup in 2013. The 15-year veteran is a free agent.
Handzus purchased the home in January 2008 for $3.7 million, property records show. June Emerson of South Bay Brokers is the listing agent.
