The “Downton Abbey” cast took to the red carpet at the 19th Screen Actors Guild Awards. Among those present were Amy Nutall, Phyllis Logan, Sophie McShera and Allen Leech.
As stunned as cast members are with the show’s runaway success in the U.S., they explained Sunday night that what they were most excited for was, well, dinner.
“A good dinner! We’re all a bit hungry and the food here in the States is amazing!” said an enthusiastic Logan, who plays the matriarchal Mrs. Hughes on the British series.

“It is! I don’t understand how people stay so thin here,” McShera pondered, in true Daisy fashion.
“Portion control,” Logan quickly responded with as much certainty and confidence as is typical of her “Downton” character.
The cast, now in their third season on the PBS show, revealed that they genuinely love and were rooting for all the television shows in their category, especially “Homeland” and “Breaking Bad.”

“Regardless of who wins tonight,” Logan said, “we’ll be cheering!”
With so much to celebrate, cheering is to be expected — not to mention a good American dinner.
