Big rig crash and fuel spill on 710 brings traffic to a crawl

A big rig crash and fuel spill shut down multiple lanes on the northbound 710 Freeway in Commerce on Thursday morning, bringing traffic to a crawl.
The big rig and a car crashed just before 5:30 a.m. near the Washington Boulevard exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Four lanes were temporarily closed on the freeway, backing up traffic for miles, as workers responded to the spill.
The lanes were reopened shortly before 8 a.m., according to the CHP.
It was unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.
