15th woman, a great-grandma, to accuse Filner of sexual harassment

Los Angeles attorney Gloria Allred said Thursday that she will hold a news conference with a woman set to make new allegations of sexual harassment against San Diego Mayor Bob Filner.
Allred described the woman as a great-grandmother who alleges that “she was the victim of continuous inappropriate sexual advances” by Filner while working at the senior citizens service desk at City Hall.
A news conference is set for 1 p.m.
The woman would be the 15th to make allegations against Filner in the five-week scandal that has gripped City Hall.
Allred has filed a lawsuit on behalf of Filner’s former director of communications, Irene McCormack Jackson.
Allred also held a news conference with a nurse who said Filner made advances on her when she went to him at City Hall seeking help dealing with the Department of Veterans Affairs on behalf of a Marine wounded in Iraq.
Filner, 70, a Democrat, is said to be taking “personal time” after completing a behavioral therapy program. He has admitted to treating women with disrespect but denied any sexual harassment.
He has rejected demands by all nine City Council members and others to resign.
