A stripper is recovering from a gunshot wound after a male customer who made advances toward her shot her when she rejected him, police said.
About 7:30 p.m. shots rang out at the Spearmint Rhino Gentlemen’s Club in Rialto when a 46-year-old customer was turned down after making several passes on the dancer, said Rialto police Capt. Randy De Anda.
The man shot the stripper then turned the high-powered semiautomatic handgun on himself, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspected shooter had just received a lap dance and “made some advances toward the dancer, which were declined,” De Anda told The Times.
“She basically rejected them,” he said.
The woman was in her 20s. Neither her name nor the man’s was released.
De Anda said the man had been a regular visitor at the club since January.
