Heat wave on tap for Southern California weekend
- Share via
Southern California will see hot conditions over the weekend, with temperatures surpassing 100 degrees in some inland valley areas.
Temperatures will rise into the 80s in the Los Angeles Basin and the 90s in the San Fernando Valley. The National Weather Service said the Santa Clarita and San Gabriel valleys could top 100 degrees on Saturday.
The hot conditions add to the challenges of firefighters battling the Powerhouse fire in the Angeles National Forest. Stronger winds are also expected in the fire zone.
Orange County will see highs in the mid-70s along the coast and the mid-90s inland.
