Untidy Bowl

When cartoonists are asked about censorship — or, as our supervisors call it, “editing” — one of our answers is invariably about taste.
As a rule, we’re much more open than editors to using schoolyard vulgarities, bathroom humor, sexually suggestive situations or otherwise blurring the line between mere poor taste and the kind of puerile and prurient filth that is destroying the moral fabric of our nation, one unsuspecting reader at a time.
But sometimes Topic A is about toilets!
After Newsweek retracted its claim that American interrogators had flushed copies of the Koran, lots of us mimicked the radio-head rants about the magazine’s credibility going down the loo. Others seized on the Bushies’ past misinformation and abuses at Guantanamo.
The best point, though, was made by Jeff Danziger. Cleaned up for a family newspaper, I can only say @%#&*@!*#!
