Readers React: End the failed embrago against Cuba now
- Share via
To the editor: Cuba is not a threat to the United States. Our economic embargo is hurting the Cuban people, but it is not helping the United States or the American people. The United States does not need any concessions from Cuba. (“Lift the embargo, but only if Cuba reforms,” Readers React, Dec. 29)
Therefore, the United States should end the embargo immediately, unilaterally and unconditionally.
Our country ought to try it for a couple of years and see what happens. If we don’t like the results, the embargo can always be reinstated.
This can’t be any worse than what’s been happening for the last several decades.
