All is bright at Crystal Cove’s annual holiday festival

Hundreds gathered on Crystal Cove State Park’s beach at dusk Saturday to celebrate the lighting of the Christmas tree during the annual holiday winter festival.
The lighting was one of several activities of the 21st family festival organized by the Crystal Cove Conservancy.
The festivities began earlier in the day with a seasonal bazaar featuring handcrafted items by local residents and artists, as well as old-fashioned holiday decorations.
In the afternoon, families took photos with Santa Claus while The Beachcomber cafe provided free apple cider, hot chocolate and baked treats.
This year, the conservancy partnered with Make-A-Wish of Orange County and the Inland Empire to select a child to help light the tree.
