Mailbag: Getting tourists to pay for selves needs more thought
- Share via
I read with interest John Thomas’s commentary “Laguna does not survive on tourists,” May 22, which begs the question: What can the city do to correct this situation so that the visitors will start paying the city their fair share of the costs they create?
The commentary is responding to Dave Hansen’s column, “How many people visit Laguna? Good question,” May 15.
Just encouraging businesses that will generate a little more sales tax will never get us caught up. The solutions needs to be far more dynamic.
