Baseball: Hart is loaded with pitchers again
- Share via
Newhall Hart has been getting a reputation for producing top pitchers, with major leaguers James Shields and Trevor Bauer and rising pro prospect Tyler Glasnow.
This past week in winter ball, Hart showed off three pitchers who are going to cause lots of problems for batters in the spring: 6-foot-5 Jack Ralston, Paul Richan and junior Jake Lewis.
Ralston had a three-run home run against defending City champion Birmingham. Richan is just returning to the mound after being shut down at the end of the summer. He should be throwing in the high 80s. Lewis, a left-hander, is committed to UNLV. Hart beat Birmingham and Palmdale in games.
The Foothill League is going to have lots of good pitchers in the spring, but Hart has a history of getting its pitchers to stand out.
