Boys’ basketball: Brentwood defeats Windward, 70-65

After a disappointing loss to Crossroads in its Gold Coast League opener, Brentwood got back to performing at a high level on Thursday night, knocking off Windward, 70-65.
Maxwell Kupchak scored 18 points and Ountae Campbell added 13. No. 1 Sierra Canyon defeated Crossroads, 80-49. Cody Riley contributed 19 points and Deveral Ramsey added 16 points.
In the Big VIII League, Sedrick Barefield scored 33 points in Corona Centennial’s 69-51 win over Roosevelt.
In Missouri, Chino Hills couldn’t hold on to a halftime lead and fell to Oak Hill, 86-77. LiAngelo Ball scored 29 points and Lonzo Ball had 22 points.
In an East Valley League game, Sean Fernandez scored 35 points in North Hollywood’s 92-51 win over Monroe.
In the De Anza League, Charles Neal scored 34 points and Daryn Evans had 25 points in Rancho Mirage’s 98-93 overtime win over Yucca Valley.
