Boys’ basketball: Damien wins Division III regional final

La Verne Damien is headed to Berkeley trying to win its first Division III state championship.
Damien eliminated top-seeded Cathedral, 68-62, in the Southern California Regional final on Saturday at Colony.
Bryce Peters scored 20 points on seven of 12 shooting. Jeremy Hemsley had 17 points and seven rebounds. Malik Fitts had 15 points and seven rebounds.
For Cathedral, Kobe Paras finsihed with 23 points and Milan Acquaah added 17 points.
