Edson Alvarado gives up high school soccer to turn pro

Edson Alvarado of Whittier’s California High has ended his high school soccer career a year early, according to former California Coach Ivan Todorovic.
Alvarado has signed a professional contract with Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuinteles in Mexico’s premier league.
Alvarado would have been a senior this fall at California. He helped California go 22-1 as a junior playing center midfielder.
He has been a member of the Chivas USA Academy team.
