Football: Big tests for Marmonte League teams
- Share via
A trio of Marmonte League teams face a final challenge in nonleague games before switching to league play next week. The games are important for possible Pac-5 Division playoff seeding.
Oaks Christian travels to face Crenshaw, which knocked off the Lions last season. Westlake travels to take on Crespi, whose coach, Troy Thomas, used to be an assistant at Westlake. St. Bonaventure travels to Alemany, which is 4-0 and moving up the Pac-5 rankings.
It’s tricky scheduling, because the Marmonte League teams all have tough openers next week and want to get healthy in preparation.
Westlake will be playing St. Bonaventure at Santa Barbara City College on Thursday night. Westlake got back quarterback Malik Henry last week after being sidelined with a concussion. St. Bonaventure isn’t likely to use quarterback Ricky Town this week, because he has been out with a hyper extended knee.
Oaks Christian will be taking on Thousand Oaks next week.
