Football: La Canada begins investigation into Drake Beasley transfer
- Share via
La Canada has hired an outside investigator after Loyola High challenged the transfer of senior running back Drake Beasley, according to Jeff Davis, assistant superintendent of human resources for the La Canada Unified School District.
Loyola sent concerns in writing to the Southern Section office, which forwarded those to La Canada, according to Southern Section spokesman Thom Simmons.
“Loyola is challenging the validity of the transfer,” Simmons said.
La Canada’s district office originally approved the transfer as a valid change of residence. Central to the concerns alleged by Loyola is whether his family has followed CIF rules in the changing of residences.
An investigator was scheduled to begin looking into the matter earlier this week.
