Football: Sylmar can win Valley Mission League if it beats rival San Fernando

Sylmar has quietly moved into position to win the Valley Mission League championship. Standing in the way is rival San Fernando. The teams meet on Friday at San Fernando.
Sylmar is 6-3 overall and 5-0 in league.
Junior running back Errin Jones has lifted the offense, and senior defensive tackle Edward Nobles has been averaging more than eight tackles a game on defense.
San Fernando is 9-0 and 5-0. The Tigers’ young defensive line has been disrupting offenses.
