Redondo tournament highlights start of basketball season on Monday

The basketball season kicks into high gear on Monday with the opening games of the Redondo tournament at Redondo High.
The schedule on Monday:
Morningside vs. Fremont, noon; St. Bernard vs. Cleveland, 1:30 p.m.; Birmingham vs. Rancho Christian, 3 p.m.; Oak Park vs. Dominguez, 4:30 p.m.; Roosevelt vs. Inglewood, 6 p.m.; Long Beach Poly vs. Mayfair, 7:30 p.m.
Campbell Hall vs. View Park, 2 p.m.; Harvard-Westlake vs. Narbonne, 3:30 p.m.; Lynwood vs. Westchester, 5 p.m.; Redondo vs. Gahr, 6:30 p.m.; Santa Margarita vs. Peninsula, 8 p.m.
Chaminade and Calabasas are also hosting tournament games this week.
At Calabasas, Dorsey plays Shalhevet at 6:30 p.m. Royal faces Heritage Christian at 3:30 p.m. At Chaminade, Simi Valley plays El Camino Real at 6:30 p.m.
Palisades is the place for a top girls’ tournament that includes Chaminade, Oaks Christian, Alemany, Serra and Harvard-Westlake.
