San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeper David Bingham, defender Steve Birnbaum of D.C. United, defender Brandon Vincent of Stanford and Perry Kitchen, a former D.C. United midfielder, have been added to the roster for the U.S. national team’s winter training camp, which begins Monday at StubHub Center.
Vincent, a Stanford senior from Valencia, was a member of the U-23 national team, while Kitchen, 23, previously played for D.C. United. He and the Major League Soccer team parted ways last month after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract.
Meanwhile two San Jose players — midfielder Fatai Alashe and defender Marc Pelosi — have withdrawn from the camp roster because of injuries. Alashe has a groin problem, and Pelosi has tendinitis.
That brings the number of players on the camp roster to 25.
