Marcus Allen resists recruiting at Army All-American Bowl

Players on the Army All-American Bowl West team took pictures last week with Heisman Trophy winner and honorary coach Marcus Allen, including top Trojans targets Porter Gustin and Osa Masina.
Allen, the 1981 Heisman winner at USC, said coaching at the game was about players fulfilling “lifelong dreams” and not recruiting.
“As long as they make the right choices for themselves, that’s what it’s all about,” Allen said, adding, “I did not want any hint of impropriety.”
Eight players in the all-star game committed to USC. Gustin, a linebacker, could take an official visit to USC in January. Masina, a linebacker, visited in December.
“It is a lot of fun spending time with the players as they embark upon their journey to college,” Allen said.
