USC recruiting update: Quarterback Ricky Town is ready to compete

Reporting from San Antonio — Quarterback Ricky Town is among 90 high school seniors at the Army All-American Bowl, which will be played Saturday at the Alamodome.
“It’s honestly a dream come true to be with the best of the best,” Town said.
But the USC commit, who has signed a financial-aid agreement and will enroll this month, knows a new competition is about to begin.
With the return of Cody Kessler, Town will be one of four scholarship quarterbacks participating in spring practice. He will be one of five next fall if commit – and fellow Army All-American -- Sam Darnold signs a letter of intent in February.
Town said the Trojans need the competition.
“To have that many top quarterbacks there to just compete and push each other to the best and get the best is awesome,” he said.
Kessler and Trojans backup Max Browne played in the Army Bowl.
